What Is Hospice: A “Hope-Giving” Part of Your Practice

When medical science has done all it can and the search for a cure gives way to the need for comfort, you can offer your patients and their families a place to turn for help and hope: Hospice.

Hospice can become an extension of your medical practice, offering patients and families the physical and emotional support they need, when they need it most. With skilled nurses, nurse aides, counselors, social workers, and trained volunteers available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, every day of the year, Hospice provides a valuable support structure to complement your care.

By referring your patients with a life-limiting condition to Hospice, you provide them with an alternative in care that is designed to help them make the most of their time with their loved ones, with the least amount of pain and discomfort possible. Hospice represents the most advanced and most aggressive symptom management program in American healthcare.

Whether the patient is at home or in a residential setting, the Hospice team will work with you to implement a Plan of Care that meets with your approval. While your patients and their families usually have no out-of-pocket costs, as the attending physician of a Hospice patient, you will be reimbursed monthly by Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance for patient care and Care Plan Oversight.

Hospice lightens the end-of-life burdens for your patients and families, and makes it easier for you to be kept informed so that your communication with your patient is timely and efficient.

When treatment is no longer an option for your patients, we hope you'll put Hospice on their side and yours. If you have any questions or we can be of assistance in any way, please email or call Hospice.

What You Can Count on from Hospice:
  • Design and delivery of programs that serve as an extension of your medical practice.
  • Keep you and your staff fully informed about your patients receiving Hospice care.
  • Serve your patients and their families regardless of their inability to pay for our services.
  • Provide care, employ staff and offer volunteer opportunities regardless of race, religion, creed, color, gender, national origin, disability, age, diagnosis or sexual orientation.
